About this opportunity
Ericsson Security Manager is a visionary, industry-leading product in security management and security assurance for 5G networks. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer with a strong user research background and confidence in driving user research activities in a B2B environment.
In this role, you will be joining our UX team embedded in a medium-sized product development community. Your focus will be on developing and maintaining our user research process, planning and conducting research projects yourself and supporting product designer colleagues in their research work. In parallel to research tasks, you will be working on a product area together with another designer, or you will have your own product design responsibility area.
Collaboration and proactivity are important in this role, and you will be working in close contact with the product management, product owners, product designers, security specialists, and software developers across different countries. Our UX team collaborates with a wider Ericsson design community, and we have Ericsson’s own Design System to support our work.
What you will do
- Developing and maintaining our user research process
- Planning and conducting user research projects across our product areas
- Synthesizing research findings into relevant themes and further into concrete development proposals
- Sharing and communicating research findings for different stakeholders to ensure the impact of user research
- Supporting and coaching colleagues in their research projects
- Developing our research toolbox by testing new research techniques and reporting methods
- Support development of product area roadmaps by exchanging views of user needs
- Translating customers’ processes, needs, and challenges into concrete UX concept proposals and designs for your product area
- Be responsible of your product areas design process and produce high quality design documentation with needed design artefacts, like scenarios, user journeys and prototypes
- Justifying design decisions with user needs, heuristics and conventions
You will bring
- Several years of experience in working with digital products and services
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and connect them with customer needs and business priorities
- Experience in advocating for and driving user research activities while staying persistent when facing challenges
- Excellent knowledge on both qualitative and quantitative user research methods
- Excellent analytical abilities, especially in the context of translating user research findings into higher level themes and insights
- Excellent English language skills
- Collaboration, coordination, and communication skills and proven track record on working with multidisciplinary and multicultural team
- Ability to prioritize time between multiple projects while remaining flexible with changing schedules
- Experience working as a designer throughout the product life cycle
- Experience with design tools like Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD
- Good understanding of lean and agile principles
Experience / competence that is seen as an advantage
- Interest or experience in UX writing
- Knowledge of the security domain
