Are you the one to lead our Data Support Service team?

We are currently seeking an experienced service management professional for our IT organization to lead the Valmet Data Services team under the Data and Insights Team. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and leading Data Support Service delivery.

  • Developing Data services aligned with best practices and standards.

  • Running continuous improvement processes to drive quality and efficiency.

You will work with a diverse range of functions, and it is essential that you have extensive experience working with various stakeholder groups, including business, IT, partners, and customers. Not only should you have professional experience leading global IT services, but you should also have proven experience in initiating and driving both continuous improvement and major changes with our partners. You will closely collaborate with your Global IT colleagues and regional IT and projects to support our business lines and areas in their operations.

Who is the professional we are looking for?

To succeed in this position, you will need to display expertise, excellent communication and influencing skills, analytical approach, and a self-driven attitude towards continuous service development that positively impacts our operational efficiency.

  • Run existing services, and further develop them and extend standardize service scope.

  • Provide leadership and management to all team members reporting to you.

  • Support key programs/projects, and support data service delivery.

  • Develop and enhance relationships with senior stakeholders and actively manage their expectations.

  • Manage vendors in your area to ensure the right balance between value and cost.

  • Handle service financial management and resource planning.

  • Travel and cooperation with global colleagues.

To succeed in this role

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, engineering, or a relevant field.

  • Experience in running an IT service delivery team in the data area.

  • Background of IT services delivery manager role and responsibilities which enables you not only to run existing services but further develop them and establish new standardized services.

  • Have multiple years of experience in data support service delivery.

  • Understanding of IT governance and operational models, as well as experience collaborating with business stakeholders in the data domain.

  • Understanding of Data Management/Data Mesh, Data productization, and related concepts.

  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions is considered an advantage.

  • A proven track record of influencing and aligning stakeholders to achieve complex, often conflicting goals across organizational boundaries.

  • Solid experience in the successful management of global services and partners.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Good social and presentation skills.

The position will be based in our capital area location in Finland. Valmet is building a completely new, shared office building in the Tikkurila district of Vantaa. We will move into the new offices in early 2025.
